To ensure a safe and secure festive season, the Divisional Railway Manager of the Khurda Road Division has directed all concerned officials to maintain a strict vigil on passenger movements and intensify inspections at stations, parcel offices, and train platforms. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel have been placed on high alert, with luggage and parcel consignments being thoroughly scanned before loading.

In addition, an intensive awareness campaign has been launched across major stations under the division. Public announcements are being made regularly, appealing to passengers not to carry inflammable or explosive materials while travelling. Staff and stakeholders, including lease holders, parcel staff, pantry car personnel, porters, OBHS staff, catering staff, and passengers, are being counselled about the dangers associated with such items.

To enhance safety vigilance, special safety drives and random surprise checks are being carried out in coordination with RPF, GRP, and Civil Defence volunteers. Train Escorting Teams and Meri Saheli Teams are also keeping close watch on passengers and luggage. Adequate fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment have been ensured at all strategic locations, including stations, goods sheds, guard vans, pantry cars, AC coaches, and locomotives.

The Khurda Road Division appeals to all passengers to cooperate in maintaining a safe travel environment and report any suspicious activities or carriage of inflammable items immediately by calling the Railway Helpline Number 139.

The East Coast Railway remains committed to ensuring safe and secure train operations during this festive season and seeks the cooperation of all passengers in this public safety initiative.
